On June 5 & 6 at Cedarbrook Lodge, Just Futures Movement Building Summit will build on the momentum of Community Assemblies to strengthen partnerships between community and government agencies.

What: In-person Movement Building & Strategy Summit

Where: Cedarbrook Lodge, 18525 36th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98188

Lodging: limited hotel rooms are available—please let us know if you need accommodations on the RSVP form by May 19

Food: Lunch and dinner will be provided on June 5. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on June 6.

Travel Support: We have a limited budget to support community groups who are traveling from outside King County to attend the event. Please email charlotte@uncommonbridges.com for more information.

Parking: Parking on-site - day parking is free and overnight parking is $15. There is a complimentary shuttle service from SeaTac airport for participants who are flying.

Airport Shuttle:

SeaTac Airport to Cedarbrook Lodge: The airport shuttle picks up from Islands 1 or 3 only in the parking garage. After departing your flight, please proceed to Baggage Claim, follow the signs for Ground Transportation which will take you across the sky bridge to the parking garage. Go down one floor where there are three islands for shuttle pick up. There is a courtesy phone at ISLAND 1 or 3 with direct dial to Cedarbrook (#56). Please call once you arrive at ISLAND 1 or 3, at this time we will dispatch the driver for pickup. Cedarbrook is approximately ten minutes from the airport.

Cedarbrook Lodge to SeaTac Airport: Reservations are required for return shuttles to the airport. Please make your reservation with one of our Front Desk Guest Service Agents. The shuttle departs Cedarbrook on the hour & half-hour with a confirmed reservation. Reservations may be made in person or by calling the reception desk at 206.901.9268. Shuttles drop off at Islands 1 or 3 only.

Story Gathering

Sharing stories from community assemblies can help elected officials understand why it's important to make government more collaborative and why they should invest in the solutions that came out of your assembly. If you are interested in a 10 min interview, please let us know and we will find you during the event.

  2. Prior to this assembly, how would you describe your experience with civic engagement or policy discussions?

  3. How has participating in this assembly changed your understanding of community problem-solving or your own ability to influence local issues?

Understand each other’s “why” & build the foundation for Day 2 deep dive

Convene with similar stakeholders

Anchors + Participants: discuss barriers and challenges standing between now and actualizing identified solutions. 

Government + other sectors: discuss what resources they bring to the table and better characterize the steps needed to commit to bringing these solutions forward.
